New acquisition to ensure a broader range of water treatment solutions for industry players

Sandnes (Norway), 22 Aug 2025 -After period of discussions and planning, it is now announced that Sandnes-based company Cubility is acquiring Mivanor. The acquisition aims to secure increased expertise and development in water and sludge treatment.

In the time ahead, they will target more industries struggling with challenging contaminated water:

– Strict treatment requirements mean that many players in the industry struggle to manage contaminated water from their production. Going forward, we will collaborate with Mivanor to further develop treatment solutions that benefit both industrial companies and the environment, CEO of Cubility Kai Preben Sæveland says.

Positioning for growth

With products such as MudCube and PureCube, Cubility is known for producing and delivering equipment for the treatment of water and sludge, including for the mining, and energy sectors.

Mivanor’s main product, MivaMag™, is a solution that removes heavy metals and other pollutants from water using magnetism. The technology is frequently used in the waste, and aquaculture industry.

– We know that many industrial players today have to deal with contaminated water that requires specialized treatment systems. By working closely with Mivanor, we aim to reach more of these companies with solutions that save both the environment and their wallets, Sæveland says.

Looking Forward to a Strong Partnership

Both Mivanor’s new CEO, Tor Erik Moan, and Sæveland view the acquisition very positively and look forward to a long-term collaboration.

– Over the past few months, we have shared offices with Cubility and have gotten to know each other well. On behalf of Mivanor, I can say that we are excited to work closely with Cubility going forward, Moan says.

Sæveland also looks forward to a strong partnership in the coming years:

– With the technology and expertise at Mivanor, there is no doubt that we have made the right choice. We are now entering an exciting growth phase.

Recently, Mivanor’s founder and former CEO, Robert Tarasz, transitioned into a dedicated technical role within the company. He has been closely involved in the acquisition negotiations and looks forward to contributing to further development:

– This acquisition marks a new chapter for us. I am really looking forward to focusing on technology development and creating robust solutions together with Cubility, Tarasz says.

Keeping their own names – but working together

Both Sandnes based companies will continue to operate under their own names but will work closely together on technology development and marketing efforts going forward.
